Just a short story to go with the results in the attachment. 60 riders turned out for the Friday Night Summer Series round 7 promoted by CATS MBC and Borough Hill in Daventry. Using a slighty different course to last year, but ran the same way around, the course was fast and flowing with some good techical singletrack and downhill sections aswell as the fast open grassland tracks and the tarmac'ed uphill finish. The race set around 1 hour's worth of racing for all categories saw lap times of under 15 minutes for the circuit. Leading through after the 1st 3/4 lap was senior Adrian Scott, closely followed by team mate John Smith and youth team mate Scott Clipstone, with William Smyth and Phil Hughes just behind, followed by leading Veteran Keith Sperry. At the end of the 2nd, Adi Scott, Smith and Hughes had got a gap with Smyth and Phil Topliss not far behind, followed by Sperry and Veteran Ron Rutgers with Youth Clipstone between the vet's, After the 3rd Scott, smith and hughes had pulled a bit further ahead, with Sperry ovehaulling Smyth and Topliss, with Clipstone still in the thick of the action. At the end of the 4th Smith and Hughes had dropped Scott by about 10 seconds with Sperry still leading the veterans race, now 30 seconds + on Rutgers with Smyth, Topliss and Clipstone between them, by the end of the 5th, the leaders had overtaken many back markers with Hughes leading Smith through for the final lap, with Scott still just off them and Sperry now clear of Rutgers and Smyth, Clipstone and Topliss still between them 2. As the 2 leaders came onto the final climb, up the tarmac section, it was neck and neck, with John smiffy Smith taking the sprint for Phil Hughes, with adrian Scott finishing a further 30 seconds back, with leading veteran Keith Sperry a further 45 seconds back, with William Smyth leading the others from Youth Scott Clipstone and other senior Phil Topliss.
